Although Lucas has forgotten more about bourbon than any of the rest of us will ever know, his cocktail genius extends well beyond brown spirits. A font of obscure historical drink knowledge - and a mastery of techniques deemed too time-consuming by most of the rest of the cocktail world - combine for unique and delicious results in his weekly clarified milk punches and quirky ingredients like maubys and switchels (don’t worry, we had to look it up too). Hailing originally from middle America, Lucas now calls the Junction home, along with his wife and young son. He also tells a pretty good Dad joke.

Ireland’s loss is our gain; Micheal’s claim to fame is that he is “Fluent in English, Irish, Beer, Whiskey and German” and now he’s quickly adding cocktails to that list. He can usually be found within 200 metres of his bicycle, and isn’t afraid to take his life into his own hands by riding it to work in the middle of winter. We’re thrilled to have him as part of the FLW family, and not just because he has a line to exclusive Irish Whiskies.

Marlene (that’s me!) had the idea to combine books and cocktails and took the dizzying leap from a career in corporate marketing into small business ownership. My goal was to build a comfortable, inviting and approachable space for anyone who wants to explore books and cocktails, regardless of how much, or how little you know about either of those things. I’m so grateful every day for the amazing team that has become the heart and soul of this little book bar and for everyone who chooses to spend an evening with us. Thanks for welcoming us to the neighbourhood, supporting what we do, and making it a genuine pleasure to be here night after night!
